Generative Articfical Intelligence Apps
This course introduces the fundamentals of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications within academic settings, focusing on research generation, teaching enhancement, writing, presentations, and multimedia content creation, including video. Designed for students and educators in various disciplines, the course aims to equip participants with the skills necessary to leverage AI tools effectively to augment their academic and teaching practices. Through a blend of theoretical understanding and practical workshops, students will learn how to harness the power of generative AI for creating content, conducting research, and engaging students in innovative learning experiences.
Principles I Financial Accounting
This course introduces the basic financial accounting concepts, principles, and practices applied to the preparation and interpretation of the major financial statements. Included is complete coverage of the accounting cycle which is designed to satisfy the information requirements of external decision makers. Topics covered are asset valuation, liability measurement, income determination and equity activities. Integrated throughout is a discussion of ethical issues and considerations.
Principles II Managerial Accounting
This course provides an introduction to traditional managerial accounting concepts and procedures utilized in the organization and processing of accounting information for management decision making purposes. Topics include managerial accounting and the business environment, cost terms and concepts, cost systems, cost behavior and cost-volume-profit analysis. In addition, the course covers the master budget, standard costing and variance analysis, performance evaluation, responsibility accounting, relevant cost analysis and decision making.
Auditing
A study of auditing theory and practical application of auditing standards and procedures to the review, testing, and evaluation of accounting controls and to the verification of transactions and balances to express an opinion in an audit report on the fairness of financial statements' presentation.
Forensic & Internal Accounting
This course introduces students to forensic auditing in fraudulent financial reporting and employee theft. This course also covers the foundations of internal auditing and operational audits performed by internal auditors.
Accounting Information Systems (AIS)
A study of concepts, principles, and procedures of accounting system design, installation, implementation, auditing, and maintenance in relating to system objectives, information requirements, constraints, system elements, and considerations on a computerized basis.
Introduction to Finance
This introductory Finance course provides knowledge of financial management. The course covers key terminology and language, Time Value of Money (TVM), financial markets and securities, financial statements, and analysis, risk and return, valuation of stocks and bonds, capital budgeting, cost of capital, capital structure, working capital management, dividend policy and international finance.
Intermediate Accounting
This introductory Finance course provides knowledge of financial management. Cyber Accounting: Risk Managment
This course is a capstone exploration of the principles of risk management as practiced by federal, state, and local entities. Discussion examines cyber accounting risk management as promulgated by professional accounting organizations such as the AICPA. Risk management techniques are applied to cybersecurity issues confronting professional accounting service providers. The focus is on developing skills in assessing client risks, designing and developing cybersecurity controls to mitigate cyber-attacks on client data, and conducting penetration tests to identify potential cyber accounting vulnerabilities.
Income Tax Planning
Current tax code concepts, issues, and regulations and the resulting consequences and liabilities to a financial planner’s clients. The course explores the structure of the code as it pertains to the taxation of individuals, their businesses, partnerships, trusts, and other legal entities. This course will prepare you for the CFP-Certified Financial Planner Exam.
Corporate Tax (Regulation)

Governmental & Non For Profit Accounting
The course presents the views of authoritative professional organizations as to desirable standards of accounting and reporting for governmental and nonprofit entities. Topics include budgeting and budgetary accounts, accounting for various funds and account groups, the financial reporting process, and application of the principles of fund accounting in specific areas.
Information Technology: Theory & Practice
Introduces MIS Concepts and theories to the student. Deals with information processing and communication as they relate to the development and design of effective business applications. Computer system hardware, software, and database management concepts are discussed in terms of the integration of specific business subsystems into comprehensible organizational management information systems. Managerial involvement in a global environment will be also addressed.
MBA: Corporate Finance
This course introduces students to concepts important to the financial success of a corporation. Students will examine different forms of incorporation, key financial concepts including sources of investment capital, corporate investment strategies, dividend policy, short and long-term planning and risk management.
Graduate Advanced Auditing
This reading and writing intensive course is for students who are familiar with financial auditing principles who wish to advance their auditing topics including those beyond the financial audit. This course focuses on when audits go wrong and behavioral and ethical concerns for auditors. The course reviews current auditing research and professional standards.
EMBA: Managerial Accounting
This Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is to provide the necessary background for users of accounting information. The use of accounting information in decision-making will be presented. The course will take a user’s perspective, rather than a preparers’ perspective of accounting. However, in order to use the accounting information appropriately, the user of accounting information must also understand how the accounting systems work. This will also be taught in this course.
Seminar in Managerial Accounting
This doctoral-level seminar will address major issues in the area of managerial accounting research and business applications by reviewing and analyzing the existing research on major topics. Students’ research skills will be enhanced by requiring them to develop ideas for new research papers. Objective is to help students develop their own research agenda and facilitate continuing research in the future.
Seminar in Financial Accounting
The primary objective of this course is to develop a broad understanding of empirical accounting research in financial reporting. The intent is to focus the student on both the classics to provide a background and current research with a focus on the types of questions and innovative methods accounting academics are currently pursuing and developing. A second objective is for students to complete a substantial research project that may lead to publishable work, a qualifying research project, and/or a dissertation.
Seminar in Accounting & Finance
This doctoral-level seminar will address major issues in various specializations of accounting such as seminal works, AIS, Emerging Technologies, Continous Audits, Audit Committees, Forensic Accounting, and Fraud Examinations. Students’ research skills will be enhanced by requiring them to develop ideas for new original research. This course prepares them for the specialty portion of the Comprehensive Exam.
Introduction to Business Analytics
The combination of computerization and automation of many business tasks as well as the explosion of available data is changing the business world. To address this, business professionals are increasingly required to have an analytics mindset to perform their jobs. Introduction to Business Analytics explores a variety of business disciplines through the application of business analytics. We recognize students need to not only develop the skills to ask the right questions but to learn how to use tools they may encounter in the workplace such as Excel®, Power BI®, and Tableau® to examine and analyze data and then effectively interpret results to make business decisions. This analytics mindset is crucial early in business education to prep businesspeople for today’s and tomorrow’s jobs.
Excel Workshop
This is a workshop to show some of the basic and more advanced functions of Excel. We cover basic workbooks with multiple worksheets. We then look into Worksheet tools, formulas, printing, conditional formatting, highlighting changes, comments, tracing precedents and linking data. We also review security features.
